Damson Tree How Do I Prune My Damson Tree?

How do I prune my damson tree? - damson tree

I have a big mess of plums in my garden. It is in desperate need of a plum - a branch in all, very much towards the end, and is strongly influenced by its own weight. Be best to prune left to their fate, but he really needs TLC!

A small plum, powerful, robust, upright growing. The white flowers are born in umbrella like clusters of 2-3 on short spurs, and solitary or 2-3 in the axils of one years old wood. The last time the bloom of spring flowers, which makes them less susceptible to frost. The foliage is dark green. Fruit begins in the 3.4 years. The tree bears large crops of juicy blue-violet, plum cake running in August to October. The adaptation of the tree on the wide range of soil types, but requires moist soil. It is robust and withstands high winds. Rainfall and high humidity during the growing season the fruit can not crack.Thinning required Damson plums. Prune only to remove dead wood, crossing branches or fast-growing shoots that appear along the trunk or branches. (Zones 5-7)
